While building a new Citrix XenApp 6.5 environment we got some weird messages in the Application Manager Logging. Every time someone logged in some random dll’s were blocked with names like t3j5irzu.dll.

I’ve used Process Monitor from the sysinternals suite to search which process was creating this dll’s. I’ve started process monitor as an administrator and logged on to the XenApp desktop with a test user.

The dll’s were created by a component of the new Citrix Reciever 4.0.

It was not possible to permit the dll’s because the names seemed random generated. So I’ve permitted the process with a process rule.

Open the application manager configuration.
Go to process.

Make a new rule.

Add the following file %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Citrix\SelfServicePlugin\SelfService.exe

Make sure this is unrestricted. Save your configuration and wait for it to be deployed to your Citrix servers. The problem should be solved now.

One Response to “AppSense Application Manager is blocking random dll’s in the temp directory.”

  1. The latest version of receiver (4.4) has changed the path slightly to

    %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Citrix\ICA Client\SelfServicePlugin\SelfService.exe

    I also had to add

    %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Citrix\ICA Client\AuthManager\AuthManSvr.exe
