Making a stand alone image for a thin client has a few things missing like setting a computername. This is for the situation you do not have HP Device Manager but either way comes in handy when you image your clients with an USB-stick.

When making an image with Thinstate from HP there was a problem with deploying the image.
Deploying the image has three fases:

  1. First boot; processing unattend.xml
  2. Second boot; Autologon with the user TEMPACCOUNT and processing HP scripts.
  3. Third boot; thin client ready, logon to user USER

When deploying the image, the TEMPACCOUNT does not logon automatically at the second boot.

You can use the password “tempaccount” to logon and the proces will continue.

After building the MSI file with Admin Studio there was a rollback with this error message. I added “32bits” to the version field.
Do not use characters in the version (VersionMinor) field of admin studio. This should be obvious, except when making this mistake Admin Studio will still succesfully build the MSI-file without any error. You can not write characters in a REG_DWORD value.
